About Toronto Renovators License

General contractors and their subcontractors must have a valid Trades License issued by the City of Toronto. Building renovators includes roofers, carpenters, bricklayers, concrete workers, waterproofing, and contractors that specialize in drains, plumbing, heating and insulation.  Contractors must have a license number and you can verify it’s authenticity by calling 416 392-6700.

The Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) has a list of members who specialize in home repair and renovations. Their RenoMark™ contractors have agreed to abide by industry-set codes of ethics and conduct. BILD also publishes a RENOGUIDE to help you through the process.
